I'll write whatever I feel like! (Gosh!)

I am giddy with excitement. I cannot believe this day has finally come!
I'm home alone, and I can actually write whatever I feel like writing. I'm allowed to.... I really can.
I'm going to write about whatever I feel like today, gosh! (Cue Napoleon Dynamite movie quote.)
Okay, it might seem like I'm being a little dramatic. But the thing is sometimes we put so much pressure on ourselves to follow the plan, that we don't take advantage of motivation and productivity when they knock on our doors.
(Or in this day and age, when we get a notification from them.)
You see, I graduated from college debt-free last year, and am in the process of writing a book on my experience. I also own an LLC as a scholarship consultant, to help students find and apply for grants and scholarships for college.
I'm reading a book called "How to Blog a Book" to, as you can see from all my previous posts, start my book through blogging.
I actually have about 30,000 or so words I wrote while in college, where i would just keep track of everything I was doing to pay for college so I would know later. Posting blogs MAKES me revise and edit a piece of writing enough to be willing to edit it.
But I was losing my motivation.
I was feeling the draw of perfectionism.
I'm thankful to page 91 of the above book, which encouraged authors and bloggers to allow themselves to use their outlines as just that... outlines. (Cue Pirates of the Caribbean quote/paraphrase, "The pirates' code is less like rules and more like guidelines.)
WELL. That's true. If I'm a writer, random tangents and inspiration should lace all my content, without going too off track for long.
I randomly read an article on Kourtney Kardashian stopping being a part of her family's hit show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and how she now has more time and feels set free.
I don't exactly keep up with the Kardashians, but I do understand the need to sometimes be set free. I am totally listening to a Japanese Dubstep playlist on YouTube write now (see what I did just there?) while these words flow from my fingers.
This has only taken like 10 minutes to write. Hello to writing about writing!
Anyways, I'm still going to be writing my book. I also know I don't currently have a huge audience base on this blog. Most people see these from my Facebook or Instagram posts. But now, I am held accountable to you all... not just to finish the book, but allow myself joy in the process.
Ya know, I just had an idea. I want people to see more of my writing. Sometimes when I post to Facebook, I just put an excerpt from my blog witht he link to entice people to click on and read it. But I might post all this to a Facebook post. FB is kinda like a micro blog of sorts.
(Or is that Tubmlr? Never really got into Tumblr.)
Because, yes, I want people to go to my blog. Yet, let's be honest, how many times do I actually go to a link from Facebook to read an article, vs. just read the little summary someone writes with the link.
Keeping friends and followers in the loop is often more important than trying to get them to click on something. Click-through-rate is notoriously low. Thank you for that information, business school.
Anywhoooooo, thanks for sticking around long enough for this post. Please stay on the journey with me to see my book published, or self-published, or find me on Instagram @karabout_debtfree_llc, or YouTube at Kara's Quest, or TikTok @karasquest.
Thank you and good night. (Actually it's only 5:42 pm.)
P.S. Wow, this random "write whatever I feel like for 10 minutes or so" was so fun! Maybe I'll be doing one of these every week or month or something..........
